- Yes for Thai originals — MFA legalizes the source, the destination embassy legalizes the translation. iLC handles both.
- Does Japan require a Japan-based translator?
- No — the Bangkok embassy accepts accredited Thai translators, which is faster than filing in Japan.
- China — Apostille?
- China joined the Hague Convention in Nov 2023, but Thailand hasn't; Thai documents still need MFA + Chinese embassy Bangkok.

How the process runs — Sworn translator certification for European authorities
- Obtain a freshly issued original from the office that produced the record and check that every page is present.
- Prepare a complete translation with the translator's statement of accuracy attached.
- File for legalization at the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the original and the translation together.
