Process overview
For marriage in Japan, check the receiving authority’s requirements first. Prepare Thai civil documents, translate and legalize them as required, and confirm whether embassy attestation is needed. Thai-issued Apostilles are not yet available; Thailand’s accession is scheduled to enter into force on 28 February 2027. After registration at Shiyakusho / Kuyakusho (市区役所), check the Thai district office’s process for recording family status.
Thai-side documents required
- หนังสือรับรองความเป็นโสด (สนง.ทะเบียนเขต/อำเภอ)
- สูติบัตร (Birth Certificate)
- บัตรประชาชน + ทะเบียนบ้าน
- หนังสือเดินทาง
- หนังสือเปลี่ยนชื่อ/สกุล (ถ้ามี)
- ใบหย่า/มรณบัตรคู่สมรสเดิม (ถ้ามี)

นำ Marriage Certificate ปลายทาง → แปลไทย → รับรองสถานทูตไทยปลายทาง หรือ MFA ไทย → ยื่นบันทึกฐานะแห่งครอบครัว (คร.22) ที่อำเภอ/เขตในไทย
